스티브 포버트(Steve Forbert)는 미국 미시시피 출신으로 1978년 23살의 나이로 첫 앨범 Alive on Arrival로
데뷔하여 다음해인 1979년, 두번째 앨범 Jackrabbit Slim까지 연속 히트 행진을 하며 포크 음악계의 영웅적 존재로 인정 받은 싱어송
라이터이다.
'뉴 밥 딜런'이라 불리우는 그가 2007년 발표한 정규 앨범 'Strange names & New
Sensations>는 1980년에 top 40를 기록하며 미국에서 뿐 아니라 일본에서도 대 히트를 한 'Romeo's Tune'를
비롯하여 'Middle Age', 'I will Cing Your Praise', 'Strange Name'등 총12곡이 수록 되어 있으며
포버트의 서정적이면서도 특유의 허스키 보이스가 매력적인 앨범이다.
